MILWAUKEE - Jury selection began Monday morning in the inquest into the squad car death of Derek Williams.
The jury will recommend whether officers should be criminally charged in Williams' death. His family has been looking answers since his death in July of 2011.
“It's one thing for your child to die that's painful but for your child to be murdered especially in the hands of those who are to protect and serve it's unreal,” said Maeleen Jordan, Williams’ aunt.
Milwaukee police, the DA's office and the fire and police commission all looked at the video and concluded officers did nothing wrong. The case was reopened after a Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel investigation.
