Brandon Sprewer Basketball Classic continues
MILWAUKEE - It's a tradition born from tragedy.
The 7th annual Brandon Sprewer Basketball Classic continued this weekend at Vincent High School on Milwaukee's north side.
The tournament is named in honor of a Special Olympics athlete who was murdered back in 2006.
"He was the kind of athlete that we want everyone to uphold," Jody Taheis says.
The sportsmanship was amazing, he was always the first one to practice [and the] last one to leave."
Dozens of local Special Olympics basketball teams are competing.
