Celebration honors Milwaukee woman attacked and killed 10 years ago
MILWAUKEE - Emily Willegal was sexually assaulted and killed 10 years ago after finishing her shift at Rock Bottom Brewery in downtown Milwaukee.
"In honor of Emily’s memory, Rock Bottom will be tapping Willegal Wheat beer for a fundraiser on Friday, February 8 to benefit the Healing Center, which supports victims of sexual assault," said Megan Sullivan, a representative for the brewery.
The Willegal Wheat beer was named in Emily’s honor after her death in 2003.
The brewery, as well as Emily's family, have all expressed hope that they may be able to help as many people as possible through Milwaukee's Healing Center in honor of Emily.
The Healing Center offers sexual abuse survivors and their loved ones opportunity for healing by providing support, advocacy and community education at no cost to clients.
Friday's event starts at 7 p.m. at 740 N. Plankington Ave.
