Oscar-nominated actor arrested at UW Thursday morning for protesting 'cruel cat experiments'
MADISON - Actor James Cromwell, an Oscar-nominated actor best known for his parts on "The Green Mile", "LA Confidential" and "American Horror Story: Asylum" was arrested in Madison Thursday for shouting during a meeting of the University of Wisconsin System Board of Regents.
Cromwell was arrested with Jeremy Beckham, with PETA, for yelling about cat research done on campus.
"The two burst into the meeting room as a UW System official was beginning a report to the regents about whether the system is on target to reach its goal of producing 80,000 more degree holders by 2025," said Karen Herzog and Lydia Mulvany with the Journal Sentinel.
"This is not science, this is cruel," Cromwell said.
