PEWAUKEE - All three Watt boys can officially call themselves Badgers.
TJ Watt signed his papers Wednesday at Pewaukee High School. He is now a Badger and his family, and the community are proud.
Inside Pewaukee High School, senior student TJ Watt, with mom Connie by his side, proudly signed paperwork to become a Wisconsin Badger.
"Once I got the pen in my hand and the paper was right in front of me, it was pretty nerve wracking," Watt said.
And the cap helps make it official.
"Now that it’s actually happening, it's surreal," he said.
The Badgers are now 3-for-3 with Pewaukee's Watt boys.
First it was JJ, now a Houston Texan, then it was Derek, a red-shirted sophomore. Now TJ is joining the team.
The brothers have always been close, but now mom Connie expects that connection to grow.
“No one could've ever dreamed that this could come and to have the brothers being able to all attend the same university,” she said. “They have even a deeper bond in brotherhood for that and for that and for that I am eternally grateful.”
Some would say this move is predictable, but TJ argues it wasn't. He also had offers from Minnesota and Northern Illinois.
"Early on in the recruitment process I thought there would be other options for me, but as soon as I got up to UW and witnessed the campus more and more, I just fell in love with it. There really isn't another option for me.”
TJ’s mom, his brothers, and most Wisconsin fans would agree.
“We're extremely proud,” said mom Connie Watt. “Very proud."
TJ's last day of high school is June 14. The next day, he plans to be in Madison to begin training and start summer classes.
