Milwaukee man charged after fatal 1-car crash
MILWAUKEE (AP) -- A Milwaukee driver whose passenger was killed in a single-vehicle crash has been charged with homicide by intoxicated use of a vehicle.
Twenty-five-year-old Christopher Joseph Allen was also charged Wednesday with three other felonies, including charges of injury by intoxicated use of a vehicle.
Prosecutors say a witness found Allen early Sunday morning behind the wheel of a car that had crashed into a tree. Police found Aaron Calvin dead in the back seat, and a medical examiner says his injuries were consistent with being involved in a traffic accident.
A second passenger suffered a broken hip and other injuries.
Prosecutors say Allen had a blood-alcohol level of 0.12 percent, or 1 1/2 times the legal limit for driving.
Online court records did not immediately list a defense attorney Wednesday.
