A Kenosha man was arrested Thursday morning for the murder of his wife, authorities said. Kenosha police officers responded to a home in the 900 block of 71st St. after a woman called 911 to report she had been cut.
When officers arrived, they heard a woman screaming inside. Officers forced their way in and found the 64-year-old woman and the 63-year-old suspect in an upstairs bedroom. The suspect was holding a knife. Officers took him into custody without incident.
The victim had been shot and stabbed, but was able to provide details of what happened to officers. The incident might have stemmed from when the suspect woke the victim up and began arguing with her, police said.
The woman was transported to Kenosha Hospital where she was later pronounced dead.
It appears alcohol was not a factor.
