Watertown-- A vacant home was a total loss after a Saturday morning fire in Watertown. Over 50 firefighters from Jefferson County worked to put out the fire.
The same firefighters are battling exhaustion after dealing with the Echo Lake Food's fire in Burlington.
"We're were out at the Burlington fire for about nine hours," said Watertown Fire Chief Greg Michalek.
The last few days provided the firefighters with cold temperatures and ice hazards, making it difficult and possibly dangerous for crews on scene.
"Whenever the water is hitting the street, it's turning into ice. So it's creating a problem for the fire net who are walking around," said Michalek.
The fire was put out late Saturday afternoon.
