License revoked on Middleton foster care agency
MIDDLETON, Wis. - In Dane County, a foster care agency is under scrutiny for allegedly misusing millions of dollars meant for the children.
The Wisconsin Department of Children and Families claims Community Care Resources in Middleton inflated salaries and spent money on luxury cars and personal travel to Alaska and Hawaii between 2009 and 2011 to the tune of $5 million.
Owner Dan Simon denies the allegations, including one that claims Simon and his wife, Mary, earned at least $531-thousand in salaries during that period.
For now, the state has revoked the license of Community Care Resources.
The State Journal says Simon plans to appeal the revocation.
