A groundhog named Wynter calls for an early Spring
MILWAUKEE - On this Ground Hog Day, Southeast Wisconsin's resident groundhog has some good news....an early spring!
The five year old groundhog named, "Wynter" emerged from her toasty indoor home to the chilly outdoor Northwestern Mutual Family Farm at the Milwaukee County Zoo Saturday.
About 200 people cheered her on, around 10:30a, when she did not see her shadow.
As the legend goes, if the groundhog sees a shadow on Ground Hog Day, then there will be six more weeks of winter. No shadow means an early Spring.
Wynter has twice previously predicted an early Spring.
Out east, Punxsutawney Phil also did *not* see his shadow in Punxsutawney Pennsylvania.
