Man allegedly drove drunk with one-week-old child in car; suspect injured during arrest
KENOSHA - A 28-year-old man from Sturtevant is in a heap of trouble after he was caught for drunk driving with a one-week old child in his car.
The State Patrol says a trooper pulled over Nicholas Hartlein on the frontage road near I-94 and State Highway 158 in Kenosha County on Monday night.
The trooper could smell booze on Hartlein's breath.
After field sobriety tests, that trooper arrested Hartlein for a first offense OWI.
That's when it went from bad to worse.
Authorities say Hartlein started banging around in the back of a squad car.
He was so violent, he broke his foot and cut his forehead so bad he needed three stitches.
Authorities gave the child to to his mother, who was also in the car, and was not drunk.
