Brown Deer High School put on lockdown Tuesday afternoon
BROWN DEER - Brown Deer High School was put into lockdown temporarily Tuesday afternoon.
According to the Brown Deer Police Department, just before 3 p.m., officers responded to the report of possible shots fired just west of the Brown Deer School Campus.
"Due to the potential of this being a very serious situation and the proximity of this sound to the Brown Deer High School, school officials initiated their 'lock down' procedures, consistent with their protocols," according to the police department. "This 'lock down' also included the Brown Deer Middle School and Dean School."
The lockdown was over just after 3:30 p.m. Police say that there was no evidence on scene that this actually involved a firearm, but officers are still investigating.
According to the superintendent, the lockdown was only a precaution, and there were never any shots fired at the school.
