MENOMONEE FALLS - A major retailer based in the Milwaukee area is giving a seven-figure donation to a group that helps at-risk youth in the Milwaukee area.

Kohl's has announced a five-year, $4 million commitment to Penfield Children's Center.

The group offers special education and development programs for young people and their families in the Milwaukee area.

The donation will allow Penfield to give bilingual care, grow its community outreach and start a digital education program.

“We deeply admire Penfield’s mission to serve Milwaukee’s children and families in need," said Kohl's Chairman, President and CEO Kevin Mansell in a statement.

“Kohl’s tremendous gift of more than $4 million is a giant step in our long-standing partnership and collective commitment to the Milwaukee community,” said Christine Holmes, Penfield Children’s Center president and chief executive officer, in the statement.

“Through our partnership, local children and their families will have greater access to health resources as we work to extend services in communities where we have identified a need.
