10 legislators claim $10,000 or more in per diem
MADISON - Documents have been released showing that 10 lawmakers claimed $10,000 or more in per diem expenses for the 2012 session.
"The reimbursements, known as per diem, are meant to cover food and lodging costs while lawmakers are in Madison on state business," said Patrick Marley with the Journal Sentinel.
Among the top-spending lawmakers, one had advocated for higher pay last year, and one had said lawmakers' pay should be cut.
