MILWAUKEE - There are some deep discounts on bridal gowns Friday and Saturday, and the money goes to a great cause.

More than 700 bridal gowns are on display. Some of them couture dresses going for great prices and of course helping a great cause.

Jenny Farnam is shopping for the perfect wedding dress. This Waukesha bride-to-be brought along her maid of honor, Several bridesmaids, and her mother Patti.

“It's busy planning a wedding but good,” said Farnam.

Today, thought, is about more than wedding dress shopping. It also helps a great cause, an organization called Brides against Breast Cancer.

"Our prices range from $99 to $3500,” said Jenny Alday with the organization.

All these dresses are donated by designers, bridal boutiques or brides, and sell for up to 85 percent off the retail price.

“We team up with other non profits across the country and donate 71 percent of our proceeds to free support programs to anybody impacted by cancer,” said Alday.

You don't have to be affected by breast cancer to buy, but for the Farnam's, that's what inspired them.

"I'm an 11 year breast cancer survivor,” said Farnam’s mother Patti.

So, Patti was thrilled when daughter Jenny suggested this great opportunity.

The event runs until 7 Friday then again Saturday from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. at Milwaukee's Crowne Plaza, near the airport.
