Estranged husband of homicide victim found dead
MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- Madison police say the estranged husband of a homicide victim has been found dead of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Police searched the home of Bernard Grosso after 31-year-old Jennifer Boyce was found dead in an east side apartment. Boyce was due in court Friday to finalize a divorce from Grosso.
Police spokesman Joel DeSpain says the woman suffered multiple injuries and died Wednesday morning -- a day before an apartment manager discovered her body.
DeSpain says the body of her estranged husband was found when officers conducted a search of his house overnight. Police say the case is being investigated as a murder-suicide. He says a loaded assault rifle and another firearm were recovered from the home.
Relatives say Boyce was an epidemiologist who worked for the state Division of Public Health.
