Police Find 19 People in House During Drug Raid

By Charles Robinson and Elizabeth Braun

Racine Police looking for drugs found illegal activity of another kind.

Police found 19 people living in a single-family home during a raid of six homes on Owen street on Thursday.

Officials said there was no heat or electricity in the house, and 8 of the people found were children between the ages of 10 months and 13 years old.

Sergeant Bernie Kupper said that even though they didn't find the drugs they were looking for, what they did find was still important.

"It's still worth it, because we never know until we go in the door what we're going to find," he said.

Most of the six people arrested in the house were held on old warrants.

The children are being taken care of by family until their mothers get out of jail.
