MILWAUKEE - The coldest temperatures in 2 years have arrived, but the worst of the cold is behind us and temperatures SLOWLY start to warm up.

The forecast for Milwaukee, Waukesha and SE Wisconsin is for sunshine and frigid temperatures around 5 degrees, but wind chills -5 to -15 all day.

Clouds move in tonight and that will keep lows a little warmer than this morning with 0 at the lake and -5 inland and wind chills of -10 to -20.

The slow warm up begins on Wednesday with highs in the teens and wind chills of 0 to -5 and a few flurries throughout the afternoon.

Wednesday night will drop into the single digits above zero and Thursday will have a high of 21 with increasing clouds.

Thursday night and Friday will have some light snow....about an inch of accumulation and highs in the mid 20s.

Saturday will be sunny with highs in the lower 20s, and the big warm up begins on Sunday with a high of 30 and some light snow.

Monday and Tuesday will be in the upper 30s with lots of sun..a heat wave!
