Water damage after incident inside Milwaukee's City Hall
MILWAUKEE - A spokesperson for Mayor Tom Barrett said that a water main break has happened inside Milwaukee's City Hall.
The Twitter account for the Milwaukee Common Council said that a sprinkler head failure led to excess water inside the basement of the building.
The mayoral spokesperson says that the break happened inside the building on North Water Street at about 11:30 a.m. Tuesday.
There was no apparent danger to people, but the city's e-mail system is impacted.
A city council spokesperson said that no evacuation was needed.
According to Sandra Rush-Walton, just after 3:45 p.m., computers and Internet were up and running in the building following the sprinkler head break.
