NEW BERLIN - A New Berlin man is just one of a few Wisconsinites set to perform for the President Monday.
"I have a front row seat to these historical events," Brandon Almagro says. "It's amazing these memories are engrained in by brain."
The member of the U.S. Navy Concert Band will be playing for President Obama during Monday's inauguration parade. He tells TODAY'S TMJ4 he's never forgotten the reality of performing for the President. It's something he's done about 12 times.
"You get a little glimpse, a little micro-second of 'oh-my-gosh this is a situation I'm in,' but it has to immediately back to the music."
Almagro's parents say they never dreamed their son, who practiced in the basement of their house in New Berlin, would come so far.
"We're very, very proud and honored that he's able to do this," his mother, Amy, says.
"I truly think it was a God-given gift."
Almagro admits he'll have butterflies during the parade Monday. But, now he's focused on more important things.
"I'll make sure that I'm marching straight, playing well and focusing on my music."
