Charges Filed in Waukesha Road Rage

By Jon Byman

The Waukesha County District Attorney's Office has charged Leonard Litt with first degree reckless endangerment and leaving the scene of an accident in a road rage crash Wednesday morning.

Litt told investigators that he rammed the woman's car because he thought she was his father.

Waukesha Police found Litt hiding barefoot in a tree, having ran from his car after the crash.  He had a blood alcohol level of 0.23, nearly three times the legal limit.

In the tape, you can hear Eileen Bolongea describe the other driver's activities.  She told the dispatcher a car came up behind her very quickly and tailgated her.  She slowed down when he started to pass, but then he slowed down too.   She told the dispatcher they came to a stop next to each other.  She then reversed and so did he.  Following that, the other driver started to ram her.

Police eventually arrested the other driver after finding his car and then getting a tip about a suspicious person nearby.

Police chased the man with dogs.  Officers say he actually climbed a tree at one point to escape them.
