Welcoming home the 1157th Transportation Company

OSHKOSH, Wis. - For more than 100 military families, this is a weekend they will not soon forget.

After an eleven month deployment, includes nine months in Afghanistan, members of the 1157th Transportation Company arrived home Friday.

The unit's 123 soldiers touched down at the EAA in Oshkosh where Gov. Scott Walker welcomed them, shaking their hands.

William Butzlaff Sr., of Oshkosh, was also proud of what his son, William Jr., for his service. "I'm very proud of him. He went over there and represented our country and our state, and we should all be proud of all of them."

The unit had provided convoy security for equipment and personnel leaving some of Afghanistan's most dangerous roads.
