BROOKFIELD - A 12-year-old boy has a new best friend that could also save his life.

Nathan Hatch has type-1 diabetes and could slip into a coma if his blood sugar gets too low. But now Sonny is a part of the family.

Sunny is trained to help sense low blood sugar and keep Nathan safe.

"He will watch after me when I'm sleeping so my parent's won't have to wake up every two hours to test me," said Hatch.

Sunny and Hatch ended up together thanks to a generous donation from a TMJ4 viewer who saw our original story about Nathan a few months ago.
