Two taken into custody after tactical situation in South Milwaukee

SOUTH MILWAUKEE - Milwaukee Police have taken two people into custody after South Milwaukee Police spent much of late Thursday night and the overnight Friday morning at a tactical situation.

The arrests happened in the City of Milwaukee.

According to authorities, someone was holding a woman against her will inside a home. After hours of searching the home, police did not find her.

The tactical situation happened on the 2400 block of Third Avenue in South Milwaukee. It started at about 9:00 p.m. Thursday and lasted several hours.

Bomb squad members joined police in tactical gear who were holding assault rifles. They swarmed a neighborhood and blocking off streets.

Police did not initially release any information about the woman involved. According to the Milwaukee Police Department, the woman was found unharmed and claims she was never held against her will.
