MAUSTON, Wis. (AP) -- The pilot of a crop duster is dead after his plane crashed just north of New Lisbon in Clearfield Township.

Juneau County Sheriff's authorities received a call on Monday afternoon that a plane flying in the area had crashed.

Authorities found a 55-year-old man piloting the plane, and he was prounced dead at the hospital.

Mauston is about 75 miles northwest of Madison.

It marked the second fatal plane crash reported within an hour after an amateur-built plane went down near Brodhead, killing the lone occupant in that accident as well.
