Storm Team 4
Rain to accompany warm winter weather
MILWAUKEE - A strong storm system along the Gulf Coast will rapidly lift its moisture through the Mississippi Valley and into our region through the day.
By late in the afternoon the first showers associated with this disturbance will spread into Southern Wisconsin and continue to blossom northward, eventually enveloping all of our area through the evening and into tonight.
Periods of moderate rainfall are likely with some pretty good downpours, too.
The precipitation should diminish very early on Friday, though clouds will remain rather pesky.
The work week finishes with our toastiest temperatures yet during this January thaw.
Expect readings to reach about 50 degrees on Friday and almost that on Saturday before a strong cold front send the mercury sinking fast.
Temperatures will only top out in the low to mid 20s for Sunday.
