OAK CREEK - With New Year's Resolutions in full swing, residents are quickly joining a mayoral challenge to lose weight.
Oak Creek Mayor Steve Scaffidi started the challenge in November, promoting a healthy lifestyle for his city.

"It started with a selfish reason. I wanted to lose weight, and I thought, 'Why not get the community involved,'" he said.

Here's how it works: you weigh in, work out, and compare your results at the end of the two-month program.  Fitness events are popping up around the area. Fans are already taking to Favebook to join in.

"We continue to see people sign up. We're up to about 600 in the community, so we continue to see that interest," Scaffidi explained.
Area residents have five more weeks before the final February weigh-in. For more information, visit https://www.facebook.com/OCMayorsChallenge
