Big Chill competition could be delayed
RACINE - The forecast warm weather could force organizers to delay a big outdoor winter event in Racine.
The Wisconsin State Snow Sculpting Competition, also known as Racine's Big Chill, is scheduled for next weekend.
Highs for those days are expected to be in the 40s.
"When we get to this point, we start to figure out, can it be done at this point and then start adjusting things if we possibly can," organizer Jeff Shawhan says. "Obviously we can't do anything about the weather, but we'll do the best we can."
Last year's event was postponed one week because of warm temperatures.
An announcement is expected early this week.
