Decreasing clouds, warming temperatures Sunday
MILWAUKEE - A weak cold front brought some light freezing drizzle and snow overnight and a few flurries are still possible this Sunday morning from that same system. Expect some afternoon clearing and some spots west could even catch some sunshine by the end of the day.
Temperatures will be slightly cooler than Saturday due to a NW wind at 10-15mph, keeping highs near 30 degrees in southeast Wisconsin. Mostly clear skies tonight lead to a drop in temperatures, Milwaukee dips to 17 degrees while folks inland will hit the low teens, which is actually seasonal for January.
We've got a work week warm-up on tap and that means a January thaw is in order. Monday and Tuesday will be breezy with temperatures increasing to 40 degrees by Wednesday. Our next weather-maker pulls out of the southwest and will bring rain showers on Thursday since highs will be in the low 40s.
There is another chance of rain on Saturday, with highs again in the low 40s, before colder air works in to bring light snow on the back side of the system. Temperatures begin the drop back toward seasonal by the third week of January.
