BROOKFIELD, Wis. - The flag outside the Wauwatosa police station remains at half-staff as officers mourn the loss of one of their own.
Thousands attended funeral services for 30 year old Jen Sebena at the Elmbrook Church Saturday, just two years after she got her dream job.
Officer Sebena was described as kind-hearted. Family members recall that when her little brother was born, a very young Sabena insisted on sleeping under his crib to make sure he'd be okay all night.
Associate pastor of Elmbrook Church said a parent should never have to bury a child. It's not the way it's supposed to be.
Tracy Burbach worked with Sabena and got choked up as she spoke at the funeral, saying the police force has lost its shining star.
The funeral procession left Elmbrook Church and traveled through Brookfield, ending up at "Wisconsin Memorial Park" where Officer Sebena was buried.
