OSHKOSH, Wis. - Nearly half of the student body one southeast school district started their Christmas vacation a day early.

Oshkosh North High School reported 40 percent of all students called in sick Friday.

The Northwestern newspaper cites two reasons.

The Thursday night snow storm kept folks home and secondly, unfounded rumors that students intended to bring weapons to school.
