Heavy snow makes West Bend 'Wet Bend'
WEST BEND - At about 1:30 a.m., about eight inches of snow had fallen in West Bend.
TODAY'S TMJ4's Cody Holyoke says that some people had to take two rounds of shoveling to get snow out of their driveways.
Officials in Washington County reports dozens of people driving off the road, but no one was apparently badly hurt.
It was estimated that municipal plows would need to work through the night to remove the snow.
"This is very wet, heavy snow to handle. It's the same problems our people have trying to get it off the streets," said a plow worker to Holyoke.
At 5:00 p.m., drivers found slick conditions on Main Street, as wet snow on the roads began to freeze.
Crews were to make a fourth run-through in the city, to attempt to make sure slush didn't freeze.
Many kids had the day off in West Bend, and they enjoyed the snow.
"I think it will be good, because we haven't had snow like this in years," said one child to Holyoke.
