'Pretty miserable' in New Berlin
NEW BERLIN - "In a word, it's ' pretty miserable.' "
Those two words were how TODAY'S TMJ4's Annie Scholz described the rainy conditions in New Berlin. It lasted that day, all day, though rain and snow.
Road were wet, without a single flake falling in New Berlin over the early lunch hours.
People were running too quickly to dodge raindrops for TODAY'S TMJ4's Annie Scholz to catch them.
When the rain is expected to transition to snow, conditions will dramatically change on the roads in New Berlin.
The best advice Scholz received about conditions in New Berlin: stay inside.
Well, Charles Benson of TODAY'S TMJ4 didn't listen. He went into an area which was bereft of snow for most of the day, until it finally fell in the 3:00 p.m. hour.
Salt truck immediately got going in New Berlin.
At about 5:00 p.m., a snow-burst like condition began.
"I thought for a while, we wouldn't get any of it. I was holding out hope that it wouldn't come today," said a traveler leaving New Berlin to go back home for Christmas.
