MADISON - The Governor of Wisconsin has issued a state of emergency as a winter storm approaches the state.

Snow totals of 15" or more are possible during the storm.

“I issued this executive order to make sure Wisconsin is prepared for whatever this winter storm may bring,” Governor Scott Walker said in a statement.

“Mobilizing our state agency resources during this storm will ensure we leave nothing to chance when it comes to protecting the citizens of Wisconsin.”

The declaration puts Wisconsin Emergency Management, the Wisconsin National Guard and the State Patrol at the ready for various emergencies.
