Ozaukee County woman prays for relatives in Newtown
BELGIUM - The Connecticut school tragedy has been deeply emotional for a woman who lives in Ozaukee County.
Joyce Andrzejewski has enjoyed many family visits to Newtown with her husband, Bob.
"It’s the perfect town," she tells TODAY’S TMJ4's Tom Murray.
"We’ve been there several times and every time I’ve been there I didn’t want to come home."
Joyce’s heart sank Friday when she heard about the mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary.
"I have been trying to find the words to express what to say and I can’t find the words," Andrzejewski says.
Joyce’s now teenage nephew attended that school and her brother serves on the town council.
"They haven’t even begun to grieve," Andrzejewski says.
"The whole town knows each other. Instead of celebrating the holidays, he’s got at least a dozen or more funerals to attend. So, I can’t even imagine what they’re going through right now."
Joyce is asking friends and neighbors in Wisconsin to pray for the Newtown community.
She urges people to make donations to legitimate funds established for victims’ families.
