MILWAUKEE - Packers fans are marking Wednesdsay, Dec. 12, 2012 - 12/12/12 - as an officially declared day for their quarterback who wears No. 12.

The State of Wisconsin has chosen today as Aaron Rodgers Day, and people are participating in a number of events across the state of Wisconsin.

Gov. Walker even tweeted Wednesday, "Happy @AaronRodgers12 Day! I declared it Aaron Rodgers Day all across WI today (12/12/12)!"

Some marked it with parties at bars, malls and even offices, and charity efforts for Rodgers' favorite cause, the MACC Fund.

Others chose to sing about it.

"On the first day of Christmas, my true love gave to me, a dreamy MVP," sang members of The Roberts Group in Waukesha.

"Very excited for the Packers and Aaron Rodgers," said Jen Roberts.

Even a Bears fan who is part of the group had his own, shall we say, role.

"It's kind of like hazing," explained Michael Wessel, who uttered the lyrics "Five Ditka sweater vests."

He joked that he has his own personal restroom.

"We have a very healthy competition here between Packers and Bears."

In Shorewood, Miss Cupcake served up specially-made sweet treats - Aaron Rodgers-themed  cupcakes.

Chocolate, vanilla, and other flavors were on the menu, with proceeds going to the MACC Fund.

And that's just the beginning of the parties, charity efforts and celebrations across the state.

"I never expected this at all.  It's a testament to the power of Packers fans and what they can do when they get together, said Jennifer Brilowski, a woman from Stevens Point, to Newsradio 620 WTMJ's Jay Sorgi.

She began the Aaron Rodgers Day movement with a Facebook page.

It exploded over the internet, and the State of Wisconsin officially marked the day.

"It's a testament to not just Packers fans and social media, but to what you can do if you have an idea, act on it and want to make a dent in the world," Brilowski added on TODAY'S TMJ4's Live at Daybreak.

Now, it's turning into workplace events where fans wear Packers gear, and celebrations across the state.

Milwaukee County officials are encouraging their employees to wear Packers gear and donate $12 to the MACC Fund.  They are among the thousands of people across Wisconsin sporting Rodgers gear.

Then, there are events such as these listed below (and these are just a sampling):

- At 6:12 p.m., the Fox Valley Symphony Orchestra is performing Packers songs at Fox Valley Mall in Appleton, while a number of stores in the mall are giving discounts

- 8-twelve MVP Bar and Grill in Brookfield, co-owned by Rodgers and Ryan Braun, are giving food and drink specials

- Blue's Egg in Milwaukee is donating money from some of its breakfast and lunch specials to the MACC Fund

- Mo's Irish Pub in Milwaukee is offering food and drink specials

- Miss Cupcake in Milwaukee is selling No. 12 cupcakes

- A bar in Eau Claire, The Pickle, is attempting to fill the bar and set a record for most Aaron Rodgers jerseys in one location

Oh, and yes, there's even an Aaron Rodgers Day song.
