Barrett releases details on Northwestern Mutual expansion
MILWAUKEE - Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett unveiled a plan for a new high rise office building downtown, an expansion by Northwestern Mutual.
The structure will be 35 stories high and cost about $300 million.
"Northwestern Mutual will pay for the construction and then over the course of years as it pays its taxes, a portion of those taxes will be returned to offset the investment we are making," says Barrett.
The mayor released details to the public Thursday during a press conference with other city leaders.
Northwestern Mutual is replacing its current 16 story building at the same location.
