Several injured, many arrests after fight following court sentencing
MILWAUKEE - Several people were injured and others were arrested following a fracas after a sentencing hearing at the Milwaukee County Courthouse.
TODAY'S TMJ4's Melissa McCrady reports that at least two dozen people were involved. She says people were seen punching, kicking, screaming or running away from the area of the fight.
A Milwaukee television reporter had a camera shoved into their face during the fight.
The fight happened after Dedrick Ashford received a year in prison and a year of probation for striking and killing a six boy with his car on Milwaukee's north side.
That crash happened earlier this year.
The victim's family screamed "Murderer! Murderer!" inside the courtroom before the fight happened.
A brawl erupted. Authorities then separated the families.
McCrady says it appeared that a Sheriff's deputy pulled out a stun gun, but did not use it.
There was no initial word on the number of people injured or arrested.
