MILWAUKEE - A Milwaukee County Sheriff's spokesperson confirmed to Newsradio 620 WTMJ that someone found a live shotgun shell on a seat of an airplane before their flight took off from Mitchell International.

Authorities disposed of the shotgun shell.

"Everybody boarded the plane, per usual," Erika Russell told Newsradio 620 WTMJ's Jon Byman.  She was on that Delta flight from Milwaukee to Detroit.

"Less than five minutes later, (a Delta staff member) came back on and said, 'Ladies and gentlemen, we have a bit of a security issue.  We found a live shotgun round on the plane.  They immediately asked everybody to de-plane and take all of our belongings.  We had to go back to security."

The Sheriff's spokesperson explained there was no further incident, and passengers returned to their plane.  It then took off from Mitchell.

"It was really calm.  I didn't even notice anything happened," said Russell.

The flight landed at its destination, Detroit, without incident.
