Pilot injured in small plane crash in East Troy
EAST TROY, Wis. (AP) -- Authorities in southeastern Wisconsin say a pilot whose small plane crashed as he was trying to land has been taken to a hospital with head injuries.
The Walworth County sheriff's office says 79-year-old Ronald Scott of East Troy was trying to land his plane Saturday afternoon when he crashed.
Scott was the only person in the aircraft. His condition was not immediately available.
Deputies say the crash occurred on a privately-maintained grass airstrip in the town of East Troy.
Scott was flying an experimental 1969 plane that he designed and built himself.
