MILWAUKEE- A Milwaukee landmark that was lost in a fire will rise from the ashes.
Iconic Milwaukee restaurant Pizza Man is expected to be up and running again by June of next year. The restaurant's owner and patrons are smiling just three years after Pizza Man went up in flames.
The landmark restaurant burned for hours -- torching 40 years of memories.
Amidzich admits it's taken a lot to complete the deal and find an investor. While he won't confirm the exact location of the new Pizza Man, we've learned it will pop up on Downer Avenue next to the Downer Theatre.
"I gather a lot of people did like the Pizza Man I think that's rather smashing especially a long strip where we have so many empty store fronts," says Pizza Man fan Georgia Varney.
The owner admits the fire including the arson trial where Feras Rahman was found not guilty, were emotionally taxing.
But now he's looking ahead and ready to bring back a Milwaukee institution.
He says 75 percent of the old menu will return and they will have new veggie dishes. Also he says to expect rooftop eating and plenty of parking.
