Racine man accused of raping kids he babysat charged with additional crimes
RACINE- Racine prosecutors have brought 23 additional child sex charges against a man from Racine already facing more than two dozen child sex charges.
Authorities say Alexander Richter, 28, molested four children he was babysitting, with some of those victims the children of Richter's classmates at Gateway Technical College. The ages of the victims are believed to be between five to 12-years-old.
Racine police, in a news conference Thursday, asked the public to come forward if Alexander Richter has ever babysat any of their children.
The allegations in the criminal complaint are nearly too disturbing to process. Police allege the 28-year-old used his apartment as a sexual playground -- his targets: young boys and girls. How many kids remains to be seen.
Prosecutors also say Richter would film his sex assaults with children, including videotaping children taking baths in what's now his former apartment.
Police searched his place. Richter himself pointed officers to his stash of DVDs and film equipment. The man reportedly filmed himself having sex with the two kids, and other victims.
"There's concrete evidence that other children were more than likely victimized," says Racine Police Sgt. Martin Pavilonis.
Racine police are serious when saying if you know Alex Richter or he had any access to your children, talk to your kids and call police at 262-886-2300.
