Jail time for Whitefish Bay gynecologist who sexually touched patients
MILWAUKEE - A Whitefish Bay gynecologist has been sentenced to time behind bars for touching four of his patients in a sexual way.
Evan Saunders learned his punishment of one year in jail during a sentencing hearing on Thursday.
"There's a lot of anger," one victim told TODAY'S TMJ4 in 2011.
"He wouldn't stop...I think maybe he feels he has the power to get away with more stuff."
Three of the four victims begged for harsh punishment.
Saunders refused to comment, but his defense team argued he touched the women for medical reasons.
That defense team asked for probation.
"To this day, I still don't believe Dr. Saunders did it for that reason, but we're here to face the punishment." said attorney Michael Steinle.
"I do believe you did this for sexual arousal, and the gratification, the pattern of behavior, that was repeatedly testified to, was eerie," explained Milwaukee County Circuit Court Judge Ellen Brostrom.
