MILWAUKEE - Marquette University says two of its students seriously injured in a car crash Monday morning are doing better, the Journal Sentinel reports.

School officials say Nicole Gibson, 20 and Honnalee Go, 20 were standing near the corner of North 17th Street and West Wisconsin Avenue when they were struck by a car.

They were transported to Froedtert Hospital following the crash.

Officials tell the Journal Sentinel Tuesday afternoon that Gibson is "stable and healing" while Go is expected to be released from the hospital later this week.

Police tell TODAY'S TMJ4 that a car going southbound on 17th Street struck a parked car, a fire hydrant and a light pole, then kept moving before Marquette Department of Public Safety stopped the car.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
