The video shows a car slamming into a SUV, flipping it and causing the SUV to land onto a second car.
The crash happened at 35th and Grant, and witnesses rushed to the rescue.
"Oh my God it sounded like a freight train collided with something really really loud," says Chico Quinones. "I heard a baby crying, I saw another lady who was driving, she was in a little ball actually laying on the pavement on the driver side."
Before Quinones could get to the woman, something caught his attention in the back of the SUV.
"I found the little baby just hanging in her car seat and that got my attention immediately. I had to work with her," says Quinones.
Besides the cries for help, something else worried him.
"I was scared the car may catch on fire because...You could smell gasoline," says Quinones.
When he finally reached the child he could not release the straps from the car seat.
"I couldn't get her out. So I had to work my way to get her legs loose until I finally did it and walked out of there with her," says Quinones. "...I felt real happy for the little baby."
The other neighbors then rescued the mother. While people are calling Quinones a hero, he credits the mother for saving the child.
"If that baby was not in that seat belt the way that car bounced around that baby would have probably been killed. So the mother did a good thing by having her strapped down."
