Milwaukee-- 21-year-old Joshua Klawikowski drove his car, the wrong way, for 15 miles on I-94. His blood alcohol level was more than twice the legal limit.
Klawikowski allegedly ignored the sirens and flashing lights of a squad car driving next to him. Wisconsin motorists are concerned with the rash of wrong way drivers, this being the 30Th case this year.
"To be able to drive that long down the interstate, that's frightening," said driver, Crissy Kimbrough-Tate.
In early September, 23-year-old Erin Salmon crashed into Milwaukee Police Officer, Joshua Albert's car, traveling the wrong way on I94.
In an attempt to curb the number of wrong way drivers, Milwaukee County is installing pole mounted motion detectors at nine interstate ramps that have been identified as hot spots. They will alert authorities when a vehicle enters the wrong way.
"I think laws need to be stiffer for those that are drinking and driving," said Kimbrough-Tate.
