MILWAUKEE- Milwaukee police are continuing their search for the group of people who attacked two men outside a south side nightclub.
One of those men, Mariano Lopez, died from injuries sustained in that attack. Police say Lopez and his friend were jumped over the weekend.
New video released shows emergency crews responded to south 5th Street near National Avenue early Sunday morning. Someone called 9-1-1 after finding Mariano Lopez and Toby Villarreal severely beaten on the streets.
Lopez's ex-wife, Lisa Morales, can't understand why someone would target the men.
"He's an awesome man," says Lisa Morales. "I'm not going to say was because he is an awesome man."
Surveillance video from a nearby club captured a large group running across the street around the time of the attack.
Sam Asad owns nearby Envy Lounge. After hearing about the attack he refuses to standby and do nothing.
"We just really want to see justice brought to the families," says Asad, who is offering a $1,000 reward for information in connection to this attack. "Mr. Lopez deserves that so does Mr. Villarreal."
Flyers are going to be distributed this weekend in hopes of finding those responsible.
