FOND DU LAC, Wis. - A Fond du Lac county dog breeder could face charges after authorities searching for a stray calf say they instead discovered the disturbing mistreatment of animals on the man's farm.

District attorney Dan Kaminsky is presently reviewing the case in which he says the sheriff's department has recommended 226 charges.

Police removed 68 Siberian huskies from the farm in Van Dyne after they claim they found dead animals and dozens of others starving.

A Reporter of Fond du Lac report indicates three of the dogs had to be euthanized.

Nearly all the rest have been adopted.

Charges against the owner could include the mistreatment of animals and failure to provide food and water.
