Storm Team 4
Much colder day in Milwaukee
MILWAUKEE - At 4:40 p.m. Thursday, the temperature at Mitchell International Airport was 73 degrees. At 4:40 a.m. Friday morning, the temperature at Radio City (the WTMJ studios) was 35 degrees.
In other words, weather in Milwaukee has dramatically changed for the colder.
"After two summer-like days with highs in the 70s, we get a big slap in the face with a shift of seasonal reality," said Storm Team 4's Scott Steele.
"The mercury will be hard pressed to get out of the 40s after that powerful cold front slashed through our area last night. Winds have shifted around to the Northwest and will continue to add a noticeable chill to the air."
There is some good news in an otherwise near-frosty forecast.
"On the plus side, high pressure building in will bring plenty of sunshine as a dry stretch of weather kicks off. We should remain free of any precipitation with chilly temperatures right through the weekend into early next week."
