Sources: Radcliffe Haughton told cab driver about salon shooting plans
BROOKFIELD- Haunting new information about the killing spree at a Brookfield spa.
Before he started shooting, Radcliffe Haughton apparently bragged about the pain he was about to cause.
Haughton took a taxi from his home in Brown Deer to a spa in Brookfield.
TODAY'S TMJ4 is reporting that Haughton told the cab driver exactly what he was planning to do on Sunday.
Sources tell TODAY'S TMJ4 the cab driver was a man in his mid 20s who had only been on the job for about four months. TODAY'S TMJ4 isn't naming him, or the cab company involved.
Sources say the cab driver asked Haughton why he was going to a spa in Brookfield, to which Haughton replied, "I'm going to kill my wife. And then I'm going to have lunch with my new girlfriend."
Sources indicate the cab driver wasn't sure whether to believe Haughton. Audio recordings we've heard of the salon shooter show he could present a relatively calm demeanor.
A source says the confused cab driver waited outside the salon after Haughton went in. And that, "...Within seven minutes all hell broke loose."
Brookfield police say Haughton killed three women and injured four women before taking his own life.
Later Sunday afternoon, sources indicate the stunned cab driver was questioned by the FBI for about three hours. The FBI has confirmed that detail.
That driver apparently hasn't worked much since the shooting, because he's so disturbed by what happened.
